so much more.. Sri Lanka – Part 1

The nervousness of the first international trip left me sleepless and I landed in the morning around 11 AM at Colombo without having slept a wink. Forget sleep, I haven’t eaten anything properly the previous day..

Probably not the best time to visit the island – I ended up there in a wrong season, but not so wrong.. Most people said I landed in not-so-welcoming-season, because it was damn hot and warning sea. But for me, the temperature was not that bad. The breeze was cool for most part of the day, though the Sun was little harsh then and there. But for the local people, seems that was bad weather.

My opinion might be over shadowed by the fact that after Trichy’s (Tamil Nadu, South India) scorching heat anything is a relief. Visit Bentota without fail and do not miss on a few things I am about to share here.

Bentota

So the pic 1 in the image, is the room I stayed in. Pretty cool huh?? Since it was off season, the prices weren’t that high. The second one is the pool side and the third image is one view of Vivanta Hotel.

Vivanta by far is the best and the only 5 star luxury resort in Bentota. The buffet breakfast at the pool side, a good selection of menus from across the globe, Mediterranean, Continental, some Sri Lankan speciality and a wide variety of bakes and flavoured desserts. Though I’m not a foodie person, I enjoyed the colors and flavor the food presented.

Bentota Beach -with barely another tourist’s footprint in sight, this is one of the best places to unwind…
